I’m Jim Powell, the Senior Pastor of Palm West Community Church in Sun City West, Arizona. I have been in pastoral ministry for 35 years serving at three different congregations as Senior Pastor. Denver Christian Church, in Denver, IL from 1991-1997. Richwoods Christian Church in Peoria, IL from 1997-2019. Palm West Community Church from 2019-Present.
I am the author of the book, Dirt Matters: The Foundation of a Health, Vibrant, and Effective Congregation. I started a national coaching ministry called, 95Network. And I have served on the Board of several ministries and non-profit organizations.
I am a widower and the father of two boys, Timothy and Trevor. In my spare time I enjoy walking, hiking, playing pickleball, swimming, and water activities as a whole.
I will be taking my first Sabbatical in the summer of 2025. Due to the encouragement and support of my church, we applied and were awarded a grant from Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Program that will allow me to take the Sabbatical. This grant covers all my expenses and helps to supplement Palm West during my leave.
